Description

Dainese Manis Back Protector The Manis Back Protector offers CE Level 2 Protection and the most advanced design characterizes this innovative back protector that breaks the classic design pattern and sets new ergonomic standards. Innovative construction solutions give the protector 3 more degrees of freedom than protectors of the past, thus allowing it to closely replicate all the shapes of the human back in typical motorcycle racing positions. The protector is capable of extending or retracting by bending, in this way following the movements of the torso. It is also able to bend and twist to follow the lateral bending movements of the body. The composite sandwich is the result of Dainese's 30 years of experience in the design of back protectors, the external plates with controlled elastic return movement are made of polypropylene and coupled to the Crash Absorb®. A final layer of comfort material ensures precise coupling with the surface anatomy of the back. The protector is characterized by large perforations and very small surfaces in contact with the body to provide maximum thermal comfort, while the lightweight design completes the design harmony of this revolutionary back protection system. Protection: Back protector certified according to the standard EN1621.2/2003 (Level 2). Articulated external plates with controlled mobility, made of polypropylene with perforated and corrugated structure. Inner core in perforated Crash absorb®. Localized comfort padding. Ergonomics and Comfort: Back protector with 4 degrees of freedom: 1
- Longitudinal stretch. 2
- Longitudinal bending. 3
- Torsion. 4
- Lateral bending controlled by special tensioners. External perforated plates. Crash Absorb® perforated absorption material. Reduced contact area. Sizing: Sizing is dependent on both height and chest circumference. Height is measured from your shoulders to your natural waist, which will determine which Type is necessary. Chest circumference is measured at the widest point around your chest, usually just under the arm pits. Shoulder to waist length determines Type: Type 49 14.75-16.5 (37.5cm-42cm). Type 55 16.15-17.75 (41cm
- 45cm). Type 59 17.3-18.9 (44cm-48cm). Type 65 18.5-20.5 (47cm-52cm). Chest circumference determines Size: Size SM 37 (94cm). Size MD 39.4 (100cm). Size LG 41.7 (106cm). Size XL 43.4 (110cm). Other: Adjustable and removable straps. Adjustable lumbar strip with double Velcro.

Easily the best kevlar jeans I've tried so farReview by
Overall
These PMJ jeans are by far the3 best Kevlar Jeans I have worn and owned. Other brands i have tried are Draggin, Aldi Torque brand, and DriRider. The knee armout in the PMY stays exactly where it should and moves with the body, whether standing or in a sporty riding position. The hip armour is the same. The armour is a fairly standard size but I do wish standard was a bit larger more like Rukka size. Even though they are fully Kevlar lined the jeans are super comfortable, and not unbearable to wear even in 30-40 degee C heat. They are also quite stylish unlike many other Kevlar jeans brands which look as though they were $5 from some clearance centre. I wore these PMJ's regularly in an office type setting and they were quite presentable. I am also confident the jeans would protect better than most in a spill as far as abrasion goes. They go over motorcycle boots with little fuss. The PMJ belt they came with holds them up really well and I think would keep them on in a slide. My only criticism and why they didn't get 5 stars pretty much is they developed a growing hole in the crotch region and horizonatal splits on the front of either thigh. If the denim was less prone to spiltting/tearing they'd be the perfect denim riding pants. They are still wearable but just not to work or anything formal. I believe they lasted about 15,000k- 20,000k before the splits occured, (Posted on 06/08/2023)
