Description

52 litre top-case Givi black with aluminium finish. Capacious topcase with Monokey fixing system that completes the Trekker range. It allows the storage of two modular helmets. Made of polymers reinforced with glass fibers, it ensures high structural rigidity. It has a cover in anodized aluminium to resist weathering.

I love the givi Trekker case. It is solid and nicely built. It holds a ton of stuff. When we go camping it holds my tent, sleeping bag, tent foot print with a lot of extra room shoes, gloves and my heated liner. If you need room to carry gear this it the case for you. (Posted on 03/01/2016)

Topcase is incredibly useful! I can easily fit 2 full face helmets or any number of miscellaneous items, no problem! My bike looks even better with the topcase installed. Easy on and off, takes just a couple of seconds. It's also very secure on the bike. I think of it as more of an extension of the bike and not an aftermarket add on. Very nice Givi case. This was my first one and they are so useful for carrying stuff for either commuting or long trips. Case is very solid and well built. I was worried it was too big but it’s not. I don’t like to have panniers on around town and this works great for even winter jackets, helmets, gym bags with shoes, and when you end up picking up stuff you weren’t expecting to. It even has a couple of loops where I use a net to hold my racquet on the top of the trunk and you can still open the trunk. It’s very light when empty and doesn’t get in the way. I was advised to get something 30-40 litres volume when I was on the market for the top box. However, I eventually chose this one and happy of my choice I am a business consultant and often live in hotels for a week. The box allows me taking all my clothes and office staff. Once on site, I can lock there my helmet and boots or helmet, jacket, trousers and heated gear Box does not cause any problem when I filter through the traffic in London My main complaint is that it does not stay looking perfect for long as the metal of the box bends easily and I have marks everywhere. Minor complaints are: 1. Perhaps even larger size would be better. It is great that it limits me from taking too much staff for my travels, but I struggle placing 3 full supermarkets bags there, which is inconvenient when shopping 2. Limited weight load under 10 kg, also inconvenient for shopping. Bear in mind that I put there 20+ kg in the past without any bad outcome, but the manufacturer’s weight limit is 10 kg and I try to comply 3. Sometimes, when the box is very full, I lock it wrongly and then need to pry a bit the opening handle as it does not open automatically However, I don’t know anything better on the market than this box (Posted on 10/06/2018)

I was underwhelmed with the lock mechanism: almost all parts are plastic. Only part that is made of metal seems to be the cylinder. Other than than, the case is very convenient and relatively low profile for such a huge capacity. I ended up returning it and bought instead the GIVI OBK58A 58 Liter Trekker Outback. Good service from Motostorm, the case arrived in Australia about a week after ordering it. The case is very large and looks good on my KTM 1190 Adventure. The custom bracket to attach the case to the bike is a little challenging to fit as you need pliers to access the nuts when tightening the bolts and the nuts are hard to access. You can fit a ton in this thing! I can offer a long term review on this piece, having had it for several years now. There is absolutely no shortage of space. I can fit two full face L-XL helmets in it, or a helmet and an XL jacket, plus personal items, when riding solo. And that's not even including my two side cases. I did drop a star though, because the retention straps that hold the lid open are a fragile plastic. One of mine broke. Huge storage capabilities, and seems to have a secure mounting system. Easy on and off when you need to remove it. The box seems stable and is only slightly effected by side winds when I'm riding solo, 2 up, you can't tell its behind you. Used to have this on a Tiger Explorer 1200, great size and volume, could actually fit a Marmot 3 person tent inside! Storing two helmets was no problem. I added the back rest and also the metal rack which was easy to install and gave the box an extra rugged look. (Posted on 19/08/2020)
