Silver SHAD lower engine guards, designed to protect the lower parts of the motorcycle (engine, crankcase, and exhaust collectors), reducing the risk of severe mechanical damage or oil leaks in case of falls or direct impacts.

Made of AISI 304 stainless steel with an electrolytic finish and tubes with a diameter of 25 mm and a thickness of 2 mm, developed to offer maximum resistance with minimal weight.

SHAD expands the Terra range with new engine protections.

SHAD takes a further step in the development of its Terra range, introducing for the first time a line of protections designed to offer additional protection to the most exposed components of the motorcycle, without compromising its design and dynamic features.

The first model to benefit from this new proposal is the BMW R 1300 GS, one of the protagonists of the maxi-adventure segment, for which SHAD has developed a specific protection system, designed to integrate with the lines of the motorcycle and its original mounting points.

The new family of engine guards is set to progressively expand, with dedicated applications for other models on the market. The goal is to further complete SHAD's Terra offering by complementing the load systems with a range of accessories dedicated to motorcycle protection.

Stainless steel and dedicated solutions
• Premium stainless steel: made entirely of AISI 304 stainless steel, with careful and robust welds and a tubular structure with a diameter of 25 mm and a thickness of 2 mm.
• Integrated sliders in the lower engine guard (Lower Crash Bars): the lower protection bars are equipped with nylon and silicone sliders at the contact points. In case of a fall, these elements absorb and cushion the impact forces on the bars themselves, ensuring maximum protection for the motorcycle.
• Two high-quality finishes:
o Electrolytic finish (silver color): sandblasted and electropolished surface for increased corrosion resistance.
o Electrostatic finish (black color): thermosetting powder coating, highly resistant to abrasion and impacts from stones.

Lower (inferior) – engine guard: designed to protect the most exposed mechanical components, including the engine, base, and exhaust collectors. Its function is to help limit damage in case of a fall or impact, reducing the risk of consequences on mechanical parts and potential oil leaks.

Specific design and integration with the motorcycle
The development of the new SHAD protections follows design criteria that focus on structural resistance, ease of assembly, and integration with the vehicle.
• Industrial-grade materials: the choice of materials is made based on the characteristics of the motorcycle and the expected stresses. Depending on the application, SHAD uses high-strength steel structures or stainless steel, selecting materials and alloys based on the mechanical and thermal needs of the individual model.
• Installation on the motorcycle: the fastening system uses the original frame anchor points, allowing installation without the need to cut or drill the motorcycle components.
• Integration with the motorcycle: the overall bulk has also been given particular attention. The bars are shaped to follow the lines of the bodywork as much as possible, containing the increase in width and limiting interference with riding.
With this new range, SHAD expands its presence in the Terra segment, complementing the solutions dedicated to luggage transport with a new family of accessories developed to accompany the motorcyclist even on the most challenging routes.
