Upper engine guards by SHAD for motorcycles, designed to protect the upper plastic parts, radiator, and fuel tank.
Made of AISI 304 stainless steel with an electrostatic finish and tubes with a diameter of 25 mm and a thickness of 2 mm, developed to offer maximum resistance with minimal weight.

SHAD takes another step in developing its Terra range, introducing for the first time a line of protections designed to offer additional protection to the most exposed components of the motorcycle, without compromising its design and dynamic characteristics.
The first model to benefit from this new proposal is the BMW R 1300 GS, one of the stars of the maxi-adventure segment, for which SHAD has developed a specific protection system, designed to integrate with the lines of the motorcycle and its original mounting points.
The new family of engine guards is set to expand progressively, with applications dedicated to other models available on the market. The goal is to further complete SHAD's Terra offering by complementing the load systems with a range of accessories dedicated to motorcycle protection.
Stainless steel and dedicated solutions
• Premium stainless steel: made entirely of AISI 304 stainless steel, with meticulous and robust welds and a tubular structure with a diameter of 25 mm and a thickness of 2 mm.
• Integrated sliders in the lower crash bars: the lower protection bars are equipped with nylon and silicone sliders at the contact points. In the event of a fall, these elements absorb and cushion the impact forces on the bars themselves, ensuring maximum protection for the motorcycle.
• Two high-quality finishes:
o Electrolytic finish (silver color): sandblasted and electropolished surface for greater corrosion resistance.
o Electrostatic finish (black color): thermosetting powder coating, highly resistant to abrasion and impacts from stones.
• Upper – superstructure protections: designed to protect the upper plastic parts, radiator, and fuel tank. In addition to preventing costly repairs, they offer an ideal support for additional bags like the new TR08.
Specific design and integration with the motorcycle
The development of the new SHAD protections follows design criteria that focus on structural resistance, ease of assembly, and integration with the vehicle.
• Industrial-grade materials: material selection is made based on the characteristics of the motorcycle and the expected stresses. Depending on the application, SHAD uses high-strength steel structures or stainless steel, selecting materials and alloys based on the mechanical and thermal requirements of the individual model.
• Installation on the motorcycle: the mounting system uses the original frame anchoring points, allowing installation without the need to cut or drill the motorcycle components.
• Integration with the motorcycle: overall bulk has also been given particular attention. The bars are shaped to follow the lines of the bodywork as closely as possible, containing the increase in width and limiting interference with riding.
