gyroscopes and 3 accelerometers) and a crash algorithm that leverages AI to accurately monitor when to deploy the airbag in
the event of a crash, the rider with a maximum inflation time of 20 to 40ms based on the volume of the airbag size, The Tech-Air® 5 airbag system offers the same protection as that provided by 18 back protectors.
The system is also extremely easy to use, just zip up the vest and close the magnetic flap and you’re ready to ride.
An Led display indicates the airbag’s operational status and the integrated, certified lithium ion battery has a battery life of 30 hours of
riding time.

I have used the tech air 5 for both touring and on track, and it have served me well so far (not airbag activation so far). Using the tech air 5 have allowed me to reuse my existing riding jackets and track suit.

I've been wearing this vest for half a year and while in the summer it gets quite hot with it on, it saved my life, or at the very least saved me from serious injuries when I was hit by a red light runner going over 60km/h. Still ended up with a broken collarbone due to the impact but got away with no broken ribs and only slight internal bruising. Docs and nurses at the ER were incredulous when they received me, and affirmed that the airbag made a huge difference to the severity of my injuries. Aesthetically there is quite a visible hump on the back due to the inflator when wearing this under a jacket, so if climate allows, I'd recommend a loose hoody over it which covers up the hump nicely.
