They are great fitting very supportive boots that offer a lot of protection. just about the best bang for you buck boots. tech 5 has metal buckles but I have had good luck with the plastic ones.

I got these boots to replace my old Tech8 boots that literally fell apart. The clips on these boots are extremely hard to get on and off. The other bigger problem is that the large plastic plate in the inside of the boots that rubs your frame, curls in over time. This cuts into your calf and hurts a lot. I have had to put an old hip pad along my inner calf to pad it against the plastic. It's really the only way I can wear these boots. They are a good price but could be designed better.
