The BMC FM01139 sport air filter is a high-performance, regenerable cotton flat panel component designed to be installed directly in the original airbox as a replacement for the standard element.
Performance and technical features
The component optimizes fluid dynamic efficiency and engine intake, ensuring high internal protection:
• Increased airflow: the optimized permeability structure allows for superior airflow compared to traditional OEM paper filters, minimizing the pressure loss of the intake flow.
• Certified micrometric retention: thanks to the filter pack composed of 4 layers of cotton soaked in a special low-viscosity oil, it blocks foreign bodies and impurities down to a minimum of 7 microns, with certified compliance according to international ISO 5011 standards.
• Combustion optimization: by reducing pneumatic load losses, it makes the flow entry into the cylinders more constant and linear, improving the responsiveness and delivery of the boxer engine.
• No remapping required: the filter's calculation tolerances allow for perfect operation with the factory mechanical and electronic configuration, without needing to modify the original ECU parameters.
• 'Full Moulding' monoblock structure: the characteristic flexible red rubber perimeter is molded in a single piece without welded joints or glued corners, eliminating the risk of cracks and unfiltered air infiltration.
• Structural and chemical resistance: the filter element is enclosed between two lightweight alloy meshes treated with epoxy resin, which isolate and protect the cotton from oxidation due to humidity and the corrosive action of gasoline vapors.
