The BMC FM01162 sport air filter is the ideal component for motorcyclists who want to optimize engine performance and improve the efficiency of their crossover. Designed as a direct replacement ("Plug & Play"), it fits perfectly inside the original filter box without requiring any alteration to the vehicle's mechanics, ECU calibration, or stock intake ducts.
The filter is made following BMC's prestigious Full Moulding construction scheme: a single mold without joints or adhesives at the corners, a structural solution that eliminates the risk of cracks or breaks over time. The filtering barrier encloses four layers of long filament natural cotton soaked in a special low-viscosity oil, supported by a lightweight alloy protective mesh treated with epoxy resins to resist oxidation and the corrosive action of gasoline vapors.
This technical setup allows for a noticeable increase in the incoming airflow compared to traditional and economical OEM paper filters, offering a more responsive throttle response, cleaner internal combustion, and smooth engine rev progression. In terms of safety, the BMC filter blocks airborne micro-impurities down to a minimum diameter of 7 microns (in compliance with international ISO 5011 standards), outperforming stock filters that usually retain particles only from 10 microns.
