if you ride two up (passenger behind you) you need a top case, and more importantly these pads. otherwise the hinges go in to your back. these are fairly easy to install, they use double stick. ive had them on for years without issue.

It does look good but not as comfortable as i wanted . there aren't any alternatives though. it is attached with a double phase on the case. i used some extra strips just to make sure it doesn't fly .
