The BMC FM01108 sport air filter is a regenerable cotton panel filter designed to directly replace the factory filter, fitting perfectly into the original airbox to optimize intake.
Performance and Technical Data
• Airflow Increase: The special multilayer cotton weave ensures an 18.5% higher airflow compared to traditional paper filters installed as standard. This greater oxygen intake reduces pressure drop losses, improving engine combustion efficiency and making throttle response more immediate and smooth.
• 7 Micron Filtration Efficiency: Utilizing a combination of four layers of oiled cotton, the filter blocks and retains microscopic impurities down to a minimum of 7 microns. The protection meets the strict international filtration standards ISO 5011, surpassing the efficiency of standard filters that usually require total filtration stopping at 10 microns.
• Structural Dimensions: Overall width of 98 mm and maximum length of 121 mm.
• Full Moulding Engineering: The characteristic red rubber frame is produced through continuous molding in a single block. This patented technology eliminates glued joints along the corners, removing structural weak points and preventing risks of cracking caused by engine vibrations.
• Advanced Protective Barrier: The natural cotton gauze is soaked with a special low-viscosity fluid oil and enclosed between two light alloy aluminum meshes. The meshes undergo an epoxy coating that isolates the component from moisture corrosion and contact with gasoline vapors returning from the intake.
• Plug & Play Installation: The filter is distributed pre-oiled and ready for installation in the original housing. Given its standard fluid dynamics properties, it works perfectly autonomously and does not require modifications to the airbox or remapping of the vehicle's electronic control unit.
